| Interludes II, F/S, PG+ |
[Apr. 9th, 2007|10:14 pm] |
Author: angharad001 Title: Interludes Challenge: This was originally written for the waymeet Rating: G-PG Pairing/Characters: F/S, Bilbo & a cast of thousands – er . . . a few other hobbits. And some poultry. Warnings: Slash; fluff and angst abounding. Summary: This was meant to be a series of very short pieces (drabbles, droubles, and the like) . . . but it didn’t quite work out that way. Idea: Bilbo’s last year in the Shire – 12 days and 12 ‘gifts’ for the 12 months. [Yes, Bilbo leaves in Part 9]; If you want another 12 . . . 12 years that Frodo and Bilbo spent together at Bag End between Buckland and the Long Expected Party ;). I wrote these on the days – 26th December through 6th January, added one for amnesty weekend. Un-beta-ed, but thanks to Kezia and pinknightfaerie for a couple of ideas and some listening.

| 'First Footing', F/S, 13+ |
[Apr. 9th, 2007|12:34 am] |
Fic: First Footing Author: Angharad001 Title: First Footing Note: Written for the waymeet Foreyule Challenge: a story based on a folk custom, folktale, superstition, legend (or urban legend) from any folk tradition in the world. Rating: PG 13+ Pairing/Characters: F/S; various hobbits. Warnings: Slightly promiscuous Frodo (past), odd structure including flashbacks, fluff, gratuitous “Oh, Sam”s. Summary: Pre-quest: Bilbo Baggins left the Shire five years – and a bit more – ago and Frodo is planning to spend Afteryule in Tuckborough at the Great Smials . . . with Sam. Further Notes: The custom is Scottish [Tookish?]: First Footing is a New Year (Hogmanay) tradition: the first visitor over your doorstep on that day should be male, tall [well . . . taller than some] dark and handsome [fairer than most], carry a bottle of Whiskey [Old Winyards might have to serve] and a lump of coal in his pocket to put on the fire.
My thanks to the long suffering pinknightfaerie for listening to it and stuff.
